Fem servir already, still, yet amb un verb en el present o present perfect. Normalment already i still van en mid-position i yet va al final, p. ex.:

| They are not here yet. (Encara no són aquí.) |
| Ron has already made the sandwiches. (En Ron ja ha fet els entrepans) |
| Ron has still not made the sandwiches. (En Ron encara no ha fet els entrepans.) |
| Ron has not made the sandwiches yet. (En Ron encara no ha fet els entrepans.) |
