9.7 Irritating habits
We can express irritation with someone's habit by using always and the present continuous, e.g.:
 | Jill's always ringing me up when I'm at work.
(Jill me llama siempre que estoy en el trabajo.) |
 | They're always complaining about their neighbours.
(Siempre se están quejando de los vecinos.) |
 | My sister is always smoking in the house.
(Mi hermana siempre fuma dentro de casa.) |
We can express a similar meaning with will (stressed), e.g.:
 | A: I'm really tired today. (Hoy estoy muy cansada.) |
| B: Well, you will watch the whole of the midnight film. (Bueno, te empeñas en ver entera la película de medianoche.) |
 | My wife has to talk to our son. He won't listen to me.
(Mi esposa tiene que hablar con nuestro hijo. A mí no me escucha.) |
 | My sister will smoke in the house.
(Mi hermana se empeña en fumar dentro de casa.) |
