9.7 Irritating habits

We can express irritation with someone's habit by using always and the present continuous, e.g.:

Jill's always ringing me up when I'm at work.
(Jill me llama siempre que estoy en el trabajo.)
They're always complaining about their neighbours.
(Siempre se están quejando de los vecinos.)
My sister is always smoking in the house.
(Mi hermana siempre fuma dentro de casa.)

We can express a similar meaning with will (stressed), e.g.:

A: I'm really tired today. (Hoy estoy muy cansada.)
B: Well, you will watch the whole of the midnight film. (Bueno, te empeñas en ver entera la película de medianoche.)
My wife has to talk to our son. He won't listen to me.
(Mi esposa tiene que hablar con nuestro hijo. A mí no me escucha.)
My sister will smoke in the house.
(Mi hermana se empeña en fumar dentro de casa.)
