Adverbs early, late, soon and fast make the comparative and superlative with –er and –est, e.g.:

![]() | The rain stopped sooner than we expected. (Paró de llover antes de lo que se esperaba.) |

Other adverbs use more and most, e.g.:
![]() | He's behaving more sensibly these days. (Últimamente se comporta de manera más sensata.) |
Note that the superlative of adverbs is infrequent.
