5.11 Adverbial clauses of future time
Notice the verb forms in the following sentences, all referring to future time. The main clause has a future verb form, but the adverbial clause has the present simple or present perfect, e.g.:
 | We'll have lunch when your mother arrives.
(Comeremos cuando llegue vuestra madre.) |
 | They'll continue working until it gets dark.
(Seguirán trabajando hasta que oscurezca.) |
 | As soon as the rain has stopped, I'll go to the shops.
(En cuanto haya parado de llover, iré de tiendas.) |
 | Will they finish everything before the bell goes?
(Acabarán antes de que suene el timbre?) |
