1.5.8 Adverbial clauses of future time


The verb forms in the following sentences, all referring to future time. The main clause has a future verb form, but the adverbial clause as the present simple or present perfect, e.g.:



We'll have lunch when your mother arrives.
(Comeremos cuando llegue vuestra madre.)
They'll continue working until it gets dark.
(Seguirán trabajando hasta que oscurezca.)

As soon as the rain has stopped, I'll go to the shops.
(En cuanto haya parado de llover, iré de tiendas.)

Will they finish everything before the bell goes?
(¿Acabarán antes de que suene el timbre?)
