9.7 Irritating habits

We can express irritation with someone's habit by using always and the present continuous, e.g.:

Jill's always ringing me up when I'm at work.
(La Jill sempre em truca quan sóc a la feina.)
They're always complaining about their neighbours.
(Sempre es queixen dels veïns.)
My sister is always smoking in the house.
(La meva germana insisteix a fumar dins de casa.)

We can express a similar meaning with will (stressed), e.g.:

A: I'm really tired today. (Estic realment cansat avui.)
B: Well, you will watch the whole of the midnight film. (Bé, insisteixes a veure tota la pel·lícula de mitjanit.)
My wife has to talk to our son. He won't listen to me.
(La meva dona ha de parlar amb el nostre fill. A mi no m'escolta.)
My sister will smoke in the house.
(La meva germana insisteix a fumar dins de casa.)
