5.7 Already, still, yet

We use already (ya), still (todavía) and yet (todavía) with the present and perfect tenses, e.g.:

The guests are already here. (Los inivtados ya están aquí.)

The taxi isn't here yet. (El taxi todavía no ha venido.)

The taxi still isn't here. (El taxi todavía no ha venido.)

The painters are still working on the building. (Los pintores todavía trabajan en el edificio.)

Jackie has already finished her report. (Jackie ya ha acabado el informe.)

Jimmy hasn't finished his report yet. (Jimmy todavía no ha acabado el informe.)

Jimmy still hasn't finished his report. (Jimmy todavía no ha acabado el informe.)
