7.7 Adjectives plus prepositions
As in Spanish, many adjectives in English can be followed by a prepositional phrase, e.g.:
 | Barry is pleased with his results.
(Barry está contento con los resultados.) |
 | Are you afraid of spiders?
(¿Tienes miedo de las arañas?) |
 | I'm tired of his complaints.
(Estoy harto de sus quejas.) |
As always, a verb after a preposition must be the –ing form, e.g.:
 | Are you afraid of falling?
(¿Tienes miedo de caer?) |
 | I'm tired of hearing him complain.
(Estoy harto de oírlo quejarse.) |
