7.7 Adjectives plus prepositions

As in Spanish, many adjectives in English can be followed by a prepositional phrase, e.g.:

Barry is pleased with his results.
(Barry está contento con los resultados.)
Are you afraid of spiders?
(¿Tienes miedo de las arañas?)
I'm tired of his complaints.
(Estoy harto de sus quejas.)

As always, a verb after a preposition must be the –ing form, e.g.:

Are you afraid of falling?
(¿Tienes miedo de caer?)
I'm tired of hearing him complain.
(Estoy harto de oírlo quejarse.)
