Notice that several of these verbs have other meanings referring to actions. These meanings have both simple and continuous forms, e.g.:
 | Ken has a shower every morning.
(En Ken es dutxa cada matí.) |
 | Ken is having a shower now.
(En Ken es dutxa ara.) |
 | A: What is that man weighing? (Què pesa, aquell home?)
B: He's weighing the sacks. (Pesa els sacs.) |
Notice in particular how we express saber, assabentar-se and conèixer, etc., in past time:
 | Sabia que era professora.
(I knew she was a teacher.) |
 | Em vaig assabentar de l'accident ahir.
(I found out (not: knew) about the accident yesterday.) |
 | No coneixia la seva familia.
(I didn't know her family.) |
 | On vas conèixer el teu marit?
(Where did you meet (not: know) your husband?) |
