1.12 Imperative




The positive form of the imperative is the same as the infinitive: go, stand, be, etc.

The negative form is don't or do not (more formal) with the infinitive, e.g.:



Go to your room.
(Vés a la teva habitació.)
Wait here.
(Espera't aquí.)
Do not leave valuables in the car.
(No deixeu les coses de valor als cotxes.)
Don't be silly.
(No siguis poca-solta.)


If necessary, we can include you before the imperative, e.g.:



You stand on my left, Jane, and you stand on my right.
(Posa't dempeus a la meva esquerra, Jane, i tu posa't a la meva dreta.)
